recently unpacked the game

ive uninstalled, reinstalled

other weird glitches like names of charaters remaining about heads in campaign map
etc

any help and advice would be great thanxx guys

Delete the two geogrphy files listed in the unpacker readme after unpacking?

i've read through the details of a bloke who had the same problems

the only things i have installed so far are mod found on here

could Akthros or Westeros have caused this

Assuming Vista or Win 7, did you unhide all files and folders in Folder Options and search for them in the users\username\appdata\roamoing?

If you unpacked, they are someplace there. I doubt those two mods would cause it alone.

i've just now uninstalled, deleted the regs, and am re-installing, going to try a battle, now, and see what happens

One thing I see is this game is old enough it does not like 1gb graphics cards. They can be made to work in battles but it takes patience and perseverence.

Have you tried installing the latest directx 9.0c and .Net 4 manually with the UAC disabled? No cure-all but has been known to help.

once the game started to work,

Yeah, I have. It's called memory allocation and the UAC plays with it. The time I ran into it was when 1.2 was released and tried to unpack. UAC enabled, you may get 26,000 files unpacked, UAC disabled, get all 36,000+ at once.
