Assuming there are more HIMYM junkies here than I have already met, discuss your favourite scenes and episodes!!

Best show ever.

I love almost every single episode but a fav. was when Barney and Marshall fake texted Ted with the suave black dude

Meh, I know a lot of people who keep raving over HIMYM, but honestly I think it's a pretty lame kind of comedy.
It's nothing compared to for example It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

Odd I always thought Sunny was way over the top.

It's a great show, my favorite at the moment. Because of the flashbacks it never loses momentum, the entire cast is very strong and compliments each other perfectly.

Its really admirable how they managed to avoid the stereotype with Barney's womanizer character. Its a whole unique approach at the idea, and they fleshed him out with many details unrelated to that aspect as well.

One of the funniest moments was when Barney shared his views on some movies, how he was rooting for the bad guy and almost cried when he talked about the terminator going offline and no one trying to help him.

Agreed, but Barney is funny as hell.

I thought so too at first, but then I fell in love with Barney the second I met him(no, I'm not gay for Neil Patrick Harris)

True, true. Also when Barney meets James' dad and thinks he's black, that's solid gold right there

I've seen a few episodes that were pretty good. I only see it when visiting my grand parents since they love it though.

How I Met Your Mother is one of the most clever shows on television. They use foreshadowing and dramatic irony in ways that few other shows have or will, and it really pays off. They also are the masters of recurring jokes, so good that I would put them on the same level as Arrested Development when it comes to consistent, recurring humor. I'm referring to jokes that are set-up and paid off in some episodes, and then randomly pop in to later episodes with no explanation. Off the top of my head, there's "zitch dog" and saluting the military turns-of-phrase ("major buzzkill!").

I can understand why it might be branded "lame" in the sense that it follows the usual sit-com humor and is all about romance and finding love, but that's an oversimplification. It really is on a whole different level than your average run-of-the-mill sit-com.

Seriously, I've watched from Season 1 to Season 6(episode 21) twice already in like 2 months, now I'm watching my favourite episodes again

I liked the first five seasons. But this year, the show degraded so much, it's quite hard to watch. Supposed to be a comedy show, isn't?

Dude the first episode of season 6 was epic. I loved the way Marshall freaked out when he was extremely short on sexual activity.

I got hooked up so much in the story that I don't really care if it's funny or not, I'm just happy to watch a new episode every time it airs.

I kind of agrees with season 6 melt-down. the show has not been as funny as before. Also the script writers have really toned down Barney from "Awersome" to "Idiot". i can see why, but i don't like it.

Awhh but Barney found love. I cried when he walked out on Nora, and didn't join her with her family at lunch.

Love the show but I never get to see it much anymore besides re-runs on foxtel

I really like this show, pity Marshal got a bit big over the years
