Default Craziest bug I have ever seen

Hi there! I don't know if this a know bug.. The weirdest thing happened to me. An army of Carthage was attacking my city of Numantia. I was playing with the Julii. They had 2 battering rams and a sap, I was able to destroy the battering rams with my archers , so they started using the sap, (it was a unit of the guys that throw rocks, I don't remember their name) I quickly sent a unit of cavalry to attack them. The half of the unit was already digging and the other half was still entering the sap. So my cavalry killed the half that was outside and suddenly they weren't digging anymore. I thought "strange..." and with no explanation my cavalry units start dieing, I saw that they were under fire, but the other enemy units were too far, they couldn't be the ones responsible for that, I zoomed out and I saw a lot of shadows throwing rocks at my cavalry. I sent my unit near the shadows, but nothing happened they were underground running through the map and killing all my units, they even passed under my walls and started killing my units that were on the walls. They were invencible. And, well I lost the battle

    Wow, this sounds really odd

I suppose bugs with sapping aren't detected much because players use it rarely, and the AI - even more rarely
    It's a pity you didn't get screenshots

Moral of the story - burn the sap point or let them finish, don't kill their men when half are underground.

Funny...I found a possible bug...you can attack ships while they are still in the enemy ports...I did it yesterday. I blockaded Carthage as the Scipii, and they had a fleet in the harbour. I tried to see if I could attack them...(using 1.3, and to the best of my knowledge, in 1.2 fleets were untouchable as long as they stayed in the harbour) - eventually, I told my fleet to move past the enemy fleet, into the little bay of Africa...and got a battle dialogue .

when you face an army using sap points, kill the sap point or let them bust open your walls, although it would be humorous to see "shadow" units run around the battlefield and kill everything...

I have another weird bug. Once I was playing as Britannia, and during the beginning of the game I tried to disembark some soldiers into Ireland. But instead of disembarking them using the ship (I was already on the coast), I just clicked on my units but I must have told them to go to the sea because the guy with my army just walked over the water and then died . I didn't lose anything. It was very strange, and when I tried to make my soldiers walk into the sea I couldn't do it again. Anyway, it was very funny.

BTW, I had already installed patch 1.5.

"Romans not only easily conquered those who fought by cutting, but mocked them too. For the cut, even delivered with force, frequently does not kill, when the vital parts are protected by equipment and bone. On the contrary, a point brought to bear is fatal at two inches; for it is necessary that whatever vital parts it penetrates, it is immersed. Next, when a cut is delivered, the right arm and flank are exposed. However, the point is delivered with the cover of the body and wounds the enemy before he sees it."

Its impossible to create the saps at custom battles I'll try to play an ancient save game to re-enact the siege.. But it will take some time oh by the way.. I'm playing Mundus Magnus 2.0 on Rome 1.2 but I guess this has nothing to do with the bug anyway.

you can build saps in custom battles.... just use a city like ancyra - not a city like Rome. If you use a smaller city, you can infact build sap points

Well, so in fact anyone can "try" the bug, and post screenshots in here. You just have to make sure that some soldiers of the unit using the sap are outside and then attack them. I think it will allways work. I must go to bed now. the school begins very early here in Switzerland . If tommorrow when I arrive from school there are no screenshots posted here I will do the custom battle myself to ty it. But if anyone would do it, I would be very pleased

Well, sometime some enemy in the map will "disappear" in my game too. Same as my army... but it just the screen problem, the unit actually is there... because I have seen my dipolmat told to air two times, and someone respond...

i'll explain: if you blockade a port with a fleet in it you can attack that fleet if you select one single ship from your fleet and attache the enemy fleet inside the blockade.

thats not a bug, your army was obviously bribed. did you check the messages at the end of your next turn?

No, it is not bribe. Sometime it may happen... just like the one I have just now... my dipolmat told to air for asking alliance, and some one respond... my experience is, if you don't move the unit, they would never appear again. (but in the program they do, just you can't see them)

It is not a bug. It is intentional according to CA. It is just difficult to get the GUI to work well enough to select the boat for attack, you have to hover just right and long enough.
