Just wondering what people think of this as an early idea for an Uí Néill flag, admittedly a bit flat (i used illustrator not photoshop so it doesn't look very real).

The name for the north west irish dynasty, also called O'Neill that takes its name from Niall of the nine hostages. Ruled an area around Tyrone or so and for the purposes of the mod would control the single province with the capital at Dúnnagall, though Dún Aíleach may be more accurate for the period.

Though i'm not sure the practice was in use in the mod timeframe i do like the idea of having an ancillary called "The O'Neill" much like the kings crown for munster/connaught etc.

Ha! as the title of the thread suggests this is a bit early since the mod hasn't been released yet. I would like to add more but i'll be honest and say if this is to a submod then for a start it's going to be small and as such i think one faction added would be challenge enough for starters. Also i know a little about the Uí Néill and would like to see them in it for my own enjoyment

Also the heraldry for them is effective and as far as i can see quite an easy transition to the style of the mod whereas a jarldom of nidaros/hålogaland, well tbh i know nothing about them or their history etc.

Also this would be my first adventure into imagery modding, all the rest has been text editing basically.

I'm also looking into making the forts for Normans motte and baileys and then only have forts for them, looks doable afaik and would be cool. I've heard some mod made ringfort campaign models which would be cool. I would also like to add forts around the map, to simulate the population spread better esp in ireland where there were so many mini kingdoms with only a few household guard and also the longphorts of the viking.

It hasn't even been released yet so lets not think about sub mods etc quite yet...

Tbh the artwork i've done was just done as a way of not doing college work. Besides i think it'll take months for me to be happy with it then it will have to be integrated... which would take even longer i'd say since i've never really done it before.
