so i manualy installed the mod (screwed up when i installed steam) and when i start up the game go in singalplar and start a ww1 campaighn it starts out like normal napoleon except untis are named diffrently what wrong?

sounds like your user script is wrong, check C:\Users\(your user name here)\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Napoleon\scripts. (you may have to enable viewing for hidden files)

you should have the line mod "GreatWar45.pack"; in it. If not, add it.

how do i veiw hidden folders?

you need to go to Folder options, under a tab on the left side of your screen depending on what OS you run. click on "View" and go down to "show hidden folders". check the box and hit OKAY and you're good to go

Well I have mod "GreatWar45.pack"; typed in my scripts folder and it still won't load a new start up i.e. It's still starting as vanilla.

instead of "Napoleon Total War" as the title on the main menu, does it say "The Great War"? They didnt change the starting video or much of the menu interface.

Sorry typed the wrong thing I ment to say is that when I start a new campaighn it's still Napoleon even though it said great war campaign when I started. What did I do wrong?

what do you mean "it's still Napoleon?" Like is it just stock napoleon? The Graphics and map still havent changed much. there are no new buildings, forests, mountains, ect. The interface should have sandbags and barbed wire, and you should have Aanker's drawings for the wait screens (before battles). Just for the record, the campaign missions from Napoleon are still there. (I.E. if you play as Germany, you still get a thousand dollars for getting an alliance with russia) You have a crap load of starting money and lots of trade route values. If you are really unsure, try a custom battle with Germany and Great Britain with like 3 total units. The riflemen should have a massive change in Rate of Fire and have different uniforms. Better yet, can you put up a screen shot?

I'll post a screen shot in a bit but I'm telling you right now the only thing different then vanilla is unit names and country names but other then that it's the same the Russians British and austrians are at war with France and germanys neutral. So did I put I file somewhere wrong or something because I don't think WW1 started in 1805 or with them using muskets.

that's definitely a user script problem.
You sure you added: mod "GreatWar45.pack"; (exactly that) to the script?

I have done everything u said in this still ed and where is this bloody NTW Appdata folder?

Well, since you did it manually, something obviously didnt transfer. i reccomend re-installing the game via steam and using the installer because it seems to work alittle better.

you're default folder should be under C\Programs (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\napoleontotalwar\data

the file under Appdata is C\users\(username)\Appdata\Roaming\TheCreativeAssembly\Napoleon*

*note, you need to have the ability to show hidden files. If not enabled, the App Data folder remains hidden. This control can be accessed through the "Folder Options" shortcut in one of your tabs (I run Windows 7, so the location if the shortcut is probably different, however the panel is found under the Organize tab for me. If you run Windows xp or vista, try using Options or Edit)

I got the hidden folder option open just couldn't find that app folder and why does the start installer not work?

If its not in the download for whatever reason, just go to data/campaigns, make a folder called ww1_main and place startpos.esf and scripting.lua inside it.

the installer works just fine, you need to follow its directions. The WW1_main file is probably in the TGW main file location, aka, wherever you downloaded it too on your computer. If you have an icon on your desktop, right click it and go to "open file location"
