Third Age-Rebel Recruitment.
I don't know how viable speaking about a mod(or in this case, a mod of a mod) is here. Here's hoping.
Simply put, I'm trying to allow the Slave faction to train units and generally grow. I've made them playable successfully, and given them significant starting funds and King's Purse. I've made a modification to Export_Desc_Units such that the unit "Hunters"(Slave ranged unit, already fully working in battles and such) are recruitable from farms for the slaves only(Just a test before going on. Small steps....). In-game, playing as the slaves...the help for Farms has updated, the link goes to the right unit, but in the recruitment panel, the unit isn't there.
Asking someone else led to him trying something similar with a different unit, given to all buildings. Same result: help text updates, no units in the recruitment panel.
If we can't do it when playable, it's unlikely the AI will be able to. The other guy felt it was appropriate to bring the question here, as it may be something strange even with baseline Medieval/Kingdoms.
What's going on?

Re: Third Age-Rebel Recruitment.
slave works strangely ( I remember from trying similar in RTW )
but I think you'll find - if for instance you set up an arrangement to let AI play and then revert back to check them - that they should be able to recruit units
however I think the things they recruit are set by the 'sub_faction' of the captain controlling the settlement as it starts in descr_strat.... so if settlement starts with sub_faction england leader in control recruitment will be based on english unit list - in that example check it's available to both england and slaves... but also bear in mind that the visible recruit /building options may not work properly for the slave faction

Makanyane is correct, they don't recruit from the EDB, but from normal faction units with the slave ownership in the EDU..

Re: Third Age-Rebel Recruitment.
I see. That saddles them with the same training times as well, unless you change the unit(not willing) or provide something slave-specific in the building(Very willing). It helps that they're already getting the AI's building boosts even as a playable faction, so that'll help. Is there a way to improve training/replenishment times by code? I'm a newbie at this.
It also means I'm gonna have to set almost every single mainline unit(or maybe at least the first level) to be 'slave' faction, as none are set as Slave. That'll take a long time, and kinda ruins the feel. Still, needs must...
Wait. If they don't draw from Export_Desc_Buildings, can they not use agents ever?
