    Icon8 too much confusion

Sorry to open a new topic but I have to in order to not go off topic with my own discussions as I said before I succeed in making call of warhammer working on Steam the point is that I have no Sounds the music worksbut characters have no voices...I have read that some people had my similar problem especially in this one

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=427420

    and here also

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=432964

so after reading all the possible discussions I went on this page

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=427349

and I deleted BETTER WATER folder AND THE 3 FILES descr_water, descr_water_effects, descr_water_interaction_effects

then I deleted the ENTIRE base folder did I do right?????? or should I deleted only part of it?

then they say "Copypast this file to your 144 data folder" I have download the file but I have no idea where should I paste it since I have no folder called 144 WHERE SHOULD i PASTE IT????

AND THEN i DELETED THE 3 FOLDERS faction_variations, winter, variations

So apart from the copypaste it s I have done everything correct right????I hope so

but will al these modifications give me back my sound??????

Mycharacters are mute the only thing I can hear is the music

Sorry for asking many questions, I did my best in order not to ask something that has already been asked, I read all that I could

    please give me a hand

PS: I have just done a battle also all the people and the general all all mute EVEN IN BATTLE

PS2: however the grafic and the details of the units(generals in particular) are stunning... well done

first: this is not a very busy forum and so it will probably take days to get an answer questioned or if ever.

two: the sound problem is probobly caused by steam and so i have no idea how to help you

three: my suggestion is their download NEW Music patch in this page
or you may download my download my music submod or chdwhite's submod.
right now i have perfected my own game music by adding what i want to it and its like 1.7 gigs and i am NOT uploading that so you have to either make do with the official CoW music or with either my or chdwhite's music submods which are both are kind of incomplete, especially mine .
will these submods fix your problem? i dont know but its better than waiting.

four: spaming the forum and making multiple threads will not get your question answered, if people who know how to help you see it they will most probably help you, if people who have no clue(Like me) they will probably ignore it and move on to do something else. spaming is not the answer.

Edit: my problem is diffrent from yours, you see my problem was the units talking like "yes sir" "right away sir" or "i am not your diplomat sadik" and some menu sounds like the big "dong" when you press end turn. the problem is not fixed and quite frankly i dont mind it too much the menu sounds disappearing is kind of annoying but having not to listen to the stupid soldiers repeating the same line over and over each time i clicked them or Muslim Elves was totally worth it. do you have this problem or are you saying there is absolutely no sound at all?

I am sorry if I caused spam it was not my intention I just decided to open a new topic because after the research that I have done on the forum it would have been off topic

I just have 3 things to ask if you do not mind:

    1) all the folders I have deleted are the correct ones?...I think so

2)then they say "Copypast this file to your 144 data folder" I have download the file but I have no idea where should I paste it since I have no folder called 144 WHERE SHOULD i PASTE IT????

    3) this is not really a question but merely an answer, yes I do have your exact sound problem

    Thanks for your help

    1) yes i think those are indeed the files you must delete

    2) you paste those in your data folder and honestly it did not fix it for me

    3) well thats very odd because i started getting this problem when i messed with my Music.dat and Events.dat files while modding my music into the game.

ok I reinstalled med 2 total war kingdoms and the mod and the problem was the same the characters and the general are not speaking at all both during the campaign and the battle same for priest, and other characters etc...

so I decided before posting again to uninstall everything delete the folder med 2 manually and down load the version without the music then I download the cumulative patch and the translation of the patch

i reistall med 2 kingdoms and all the mod in the right order...

and when I lanched...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.... the sound problem still remained the only difference is that now it was completely silent game ( since it was the version without music)

I asked a friend of mine who has not the steam version and he has exactly the same problem

the only thing left for me to do was trying the torrent version I downloadded it but I do not know how to lanch the installer

please guys give me a hand, do you have the same problem ? what version do you have???

if you do not have this problem can you give me please your sound files so I will try to rewrite them...

do you think it might work???

ps:how do u install the torrent version?

thanks a lot to everyone that will try to give me a hand

Extract to your mod folder, create short cut , then play
"When In doubt? Belive the person with the bloodier weapon!"
"When you need to shoot. Shoot, don't talk!" Tuco
