22 GB update... Yeah...

Well, this thread will probably be a short one since it's more of a curiosity thing than a serious problem that needs solving. But anyway:

I had to reinstall Napoleon (I say 'had to', the graphics problem I'd been experiencing was just because I had my laptop on the wrong power plan, but I found that out too late). I made it use the disk instead of downloading the whole thing from steam, and it did that in decent time. Then it said it was updating. Fine. I looked a short while later and it said 92%. Good, I thought, it's moving along well. Now, probably several hours later, it's on 97%. Less good. So I looked in the details for the download, and found that it's downloading about 22 GB of stuff.



Something tells me this is more than a mere update. Anybody know what might be happening here?

It is probably just downloading the entire game, i had that when i tried installing Empire, i just veryfied the files and it went back to normal and started updating not redownloading everything. Hope this helps.

Thanks very much. Well, it's at 99% now, so probably not worth it. Thing is, I installed the game from the disks right before it started doing this. If it's downloading the whole thing now - which it sounds very much like it is - then do you reckon it'll be patched properly when it's done?
