i bought it on Steam, and it seems like a pretty nice game so far.

setting the settings to DX11 enables this really blurry depth-of-field like feature that i find incredibly annoying. even the two guys in the main menu that are standing next to the 'quit' door are insanely blurry when i enable DX11. setting it down to DX10 removes this blurriness, although i'm probably missing out on a few other features. i could also set the settings to ultra, but it plays in the 30-40 range. i really like fluidity so i set it to high and it generally stays above 60. i don't like how the game doesn't allow you to change individual graphic settings. i would like some things from the ultra mode and leave some things out, for example i almost always set shadows to medium, my eyes don't place much emphasis on them and they tend to be almost always have a huge toll on FPS.

There is some customizations to these effects that can be made out of the game by modifying some file... can't re,ember how to find it anymore, might be worth googling for ya.

Game is playing very smoothly maxed out with my GTX260, so no complaints.

I have noticed that other players have a problem where the game will stop running and you will be asked to try again later; the way to fix this should it happen is to run the vcredist_x86_sp1_atl_4053 located in the install folder for Metro 2033. I have had zero problems, but again it is something I picked up from the forums.

Metro 2033 cannot be maxed out on a DX10 card as you lack DX11...

It's alright as long as you enjoy the game.

GamersGate isn't converting correctly, so it was $5 as well.
