Possible bug question?

Hey all, I just had a quick question. I recently installed Barbarian Invasion, played through a campaign or two, and decided to go back to vanilla Rome: Total War to try my hand at some pre-Caesar barabarian factions. However, something seems to have gone wrong with my game. Whenever I go to start a new Imperial Campaign in vanilla TW, the game crashes. Well, it doesn't "crash" crash... the game loads as if it's starting campaign mode, then it simply kicks me back to the main menu. The same thing happens whenever I try and access any of my old saved games: I get a loading screen, then I'm right back where I started! Custom battles and historical battles work fine, but anything to do with the campaign simply won't load for me. I was wondering if this has ever happened to anyone else here, and if so, how can I fix it? Short of reinstalling the entire game, of course... I'm saving that for a last resort.

Well, you cant access your saved campaigns because when you install BI, it auto patches RTW to 1.3. But I don't know about the other problem

Ahhhh. It auto patches to 1.3? I think I patched TW all the way up to 1.5 prior to installing BI... could BI of "depatched" my game and messed things up?

I don't think it's possible to depatch, but it probably screwed your game files

Thats probably the reason, uninstall then reinstall is probably your best bet.

Argggh. I was afraid of that. OK, thanks for the help! I take it I uninstall everything, reinstall TW, then install BI
before patching, and finally repatch to 1.5?

I am having the same problem with vanilla RTW. I patched the game up to 1.5 and then I installed Darth mod 6.8. Yesterday I was playing the game and I saved it now whenever I try to load it the game will act like it is loading and then it will boot me to my desktop. I cant even start a new game now but it was working fine yesterday.

Morosenoodle, reinstall RTW, then install BI, then install 1.5, Bi automatically patches RTW to 1.3.
