Greece goes to Interpol over London trader that dared talk about Greece's economy

This is getting absurd. The Greek Government now seems to see its role as lashing out at any foreigner they can to distract the people from their situation.
A trader of Citibank sent an email saying there was increased "noise" about Greece defaulting on its debt. This has been printed in a Greek newspaper.
It's bullying, absolutely disgusting.

Now this is getting absurd. Ferrets and a few more guys have nothing better to do than mock Greece.
In fact, I, being a Greek myself, didn't even know there was such situation. Thanks again for informing me on everything about Greece. Now I don't even have to watch the news anymore.

The Greek authorities have asked Interpol to question a London trader over an email he sent which talked of the high chance of a Greek default.
The email, published in a Greek newspaper, refers to "increased noise" over a Greek debt restructuring as early as Easter.

Don't they have every right to ask Interpol to go through it?
If Interpol finds nothing, it ends there. Or perhaps someone here has doupts about Interpol and its abilities?
It's not forbidden to say that Greek economy is bad or that it may default. We have freedom of speech and trust me, we excercice it a lot.
It may prove to be an attempt to hit our market though for profit, which is illegal.
I disagree with a lot that my goverment does, but I don't disagree with asking interpol to check such things. That's part of interpol's job

I read the link; so it published the email, what is your point?. Did it also report on the fact that your Government had asked Interpol to look into the matter, or was it focussed on the fact that some Brit trader had made comments about the state of the Greek economy (which is apparently forbidden)?

I don't care if it is forbidden or not. The question is if it is illegal. And that is something for Interpol to decide.
As for the local media beeing uninformative, that is your assumption based on who knows what. Nothing in the article even remotely suggests it.

That's because the article is obviously incomplete. It speaks of a random London trader sending an email to somewhere. For any person with an IQ above zero it is obvious that the case was far more important. Rumors of defaulting raise the spreads which means that the Greek government can't take loans because of the high interest. What people seem not to understand is that the problem of Greece is not the debt something which all countries in the world have but the inability to take loans.
