need to ask a question

i am a complete noob in modding and stuff, i have added mods and stuff but i want to create something myself. Because i know nothing about moding i can't find a suitable guide for me, i want to reskin a unit but i have found out that you mainly need programs that cost alot to buy such as 3dmax.

So is there anyway i can reskin without using paid programs??

I think you are not in the most active place ... what game are you trying to mod ... I would go to that respective games site and ask the question in the modding section there. Sorry I am not able to answer the question myself but I have never done any modding like you want to take on. Good luck!

If it's for Medieval 2 you can use GIMP for skinning, Free.
Milkshape for creating\modifying new units, 30 days free trial, then pay a pittance to buy it.
