Default HoI3 SF Continual Air/Naval Problem

I'm finding that sometime through each campaign I am no longer able to use this option and the aircraft/ship just sails back to (air)port straight away. I can get it to last a month without continual, although it wont let me increase the time manually. Any answers?

well if you just tell him to do something, he will until you tell him to stop. I think there is a box or something that needs to be checked/unchecked I don't remember.

I know about the box, but the problem is it's not working. I can only get it to work for a month by unchecking the continual box, which is inconvenient when I need to maintain a large fleet of submarines cutting off enemy supplies or naval bombers and destroyers helping to protect my convoys.

It depends on a few things. First, your aggressiveness settings. If you put that to "defensive", planes and ships won't sortie if their organization is below 85%. The Passive setting lowers that to 50%, and the aggressive setting lowers that to 20%.

Second, if you're playing past 1948, then you can't do continuous missions anymore since you're playing past the "end date". You can change the end date in the file defines.lua in the folder named "common".

Third, if your planes are performing a hostile mission in what starts off as a hostile province, but then you take the province over, the planes will stop what they were doing. This happens regardless of whether their mission was for a single province or in a group of provinces centered around the one that change ownership.

    Hope that helps.
