Default Explosive Device Posted to Neil Lennon

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotlan...-west-13129139

So Celtic manager Neil Lennon has once again been targeted, this time along with Paul McBride QC and a former MSP. However this time it was a viable explosive device which could have indeed killed.

Neil Lennon has now been the victim of two assaults, various hoax bombs posted to him, explosive devices posted to him, bullets sent in the post to his address and numerous other death threats. Lennon has also had to be woken up during the night along with his family and moved to a safehouse.

All for what? His religion and the club he supports.

Take a second to realise what is going on in Glasgow right now and that the current Celtic manager is risking his life for managing a football club!

Who is doing this though? Sectarian sentiments seem to be rising of late but actually trying to kill him sounds like more than just average football hooligans. I'd guess that there is some kind of organised crime syndicate or former members of one involved. It does seem to be purely motivated by the fact that they were all involved in Celtic though. Trish Godman is my local MSP as well, I've met her, lucky the devices didn't go off. There are a lot of terrorists living in Ayrshire and Renfrewshire it seems, one of the Gw.Airport attackers lived in Houston. I'd better watch out, any of my neighbours might be running a bomb making factory.

A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

These people are probably not Rangers fans. If they say they are I would be the first to disown them. No sport is worth death threats let alone sending an actual bomb to a rival's manager. I know that 99% of Rangers fans would never agree with this. There is always that idiotic 1% though.

I expect it will be some muppets from Ireland still getting angry that he's managing a "catholic" team....can we even call Rangers and Celtic protestant/catholic any more? It's not like Rangers have never signed a catholic or celtic have never signed a protestant.

It's all totally ridiculous and I hope they find the men behind it. Football shouldn't be used as a vehicle for violence/racism.

Again, this is terrorists using football as an excuse for what they are doing. Same with the racist stuff we see. It just so happens that these two rival clubs have the history.

I guess this is another Old Firm match destined to be remembered for arrests and violence rather than the showpiece match is can be and has been in recent times. It can be a brilliant game of football when stuff like this doesn't happen.

I have to agree, anyone who uses these methods of bombs and such isn't a football fan. Same goes to the bomb found in Dortmund's Signal Iduna Park complex, it may have been a Schalke fan, but then again he doesn't deserve to be called a football lover if he wants to blow other supporters and teams away.

Cardinal Keith O'Brien, leader of the Catholic Church in Scotland has now been sent bullets in the post. The senders claim to be the UVF!

I'd say there is an overwhelming possibility that they could be Rangers fans. Most definetly anti-catholic/Celtic.

And I would hope 99% of Rangers fans would not approve of what has happened. However, that does not mean to say that 99% of Rangers fans have not played any part in things escalating to the level they are at right now.

The bombs recently sent were posted in Kilwinning, in Ayrshire.

So would these same muppets then send the same type of bomb through the post to Celtic's lawyer (for defending the club and Neil Lennon), a former MSP (who's only crime was wearing a Celtic top to Parliament for charity on her final day) and the head of the catholic church in Scotland?

It is both anti-catholic and anti-Celtic.

Its not like Rangers never signed a catholic for a hundred odd years. Its not like Rangers never removed 'Eggs Benedict' from their menu when Pope Benedict XVI was chosen. Its not like Rangers have never charged Ł16.90 for products on sale. Its not like there are anti-catholic/protestant things said by both sets of supporters.....

I know that some people who had links with Lennon were targeted but what link had this man to Neil Lennon? I don’t know much about the Roman Catholic religion but perhaps Lennon was one of his altar boys when he was young and that’s how they know each other.
Was Lennon connected to him in some way and that’s why he was targeted?

I saw in the papers yesterday that another bomb had been intercepted on it's way to Lennon.

Still trying, idiots need to be caught.

Might I add, in Celtic's match tonight against Hearts (in Edinburgh), a fan ran onto the pitch after Celtic scored and attacked Neil Lennon.

I'm only glad that he never had a knife or some sort of weapon, or else this could have ended up a much worse situation.

The football pitch was the one place that Lennon hasn't been a victim of some sort of attack, now it doesn't seem he can go anywhere without threat.

I've never seen anything like this before.

    YNWA!

    My only question:

Where THE HELL was the security? I've seen the footage, he jumped the barriers without even a single person try to stop him. First person to realize was Alan Thompson in the technical area. The SFA need to investigate where the security was, the police need to have a look at where their officers were. Leaving a man who has been given death threats without a police officer close enough to stop these kinds of things is simply mind-boggling.

If it's down to the Hearts stadium organizers, throw the book at them.

Also, good to see Lennon stick the boot in the guy.

Its been billed as a "West of Scotland problem". The failure of those in senior positions to admit that it is a nationwide problem probably helped contribute to the poor security.

A West of Scotland problem? This is all stemming from that Irish storm ages ago. It's flat out ridiculous that the government simply ignores this. Holyrood should be sorting this out properly.

Sorting this problem out will be pretty much impossible. If they can it will take about 2 more generations to see significant progress. The hatred is bred into these people from a very young age, passed on from father to son and embraced at the football.

I mean about the fan getting onto the pitch ridiculously easy. You said it, imagine if he had a knife, we could be on here talking about attempted murder.

Was looking on Facebook and its seriously disgraceful trying to see people justify it. The most commonly used arguement is "he brings it on himself" ing laughable, he is a football manager ffs the guy does nothing but applaud his loyal fans and tells his opinion how it is infront of the camera and for this he is subject to a year long hate campaign, I really think this is going to make him seriously consider his future which really is a shame.

I condemn the people who are sending the devices. A tragedy could happen and Royal mail workers could be injured.
Strange that Martin O’Neil didn’t get the same treatment when he was Celtic manager but then he didn’t wind people up like Lennon. If you wind people up expect to get a reaction and sometimes right or wrong that reaction can be extreme.

Did anyone notice Lennon Kicking the hearts fan who attacked him when he was on the ground? He was really putting the boot in so he’s not exactly Mother Teresa himself . Lennon is also a thug and was going to fight with Ally Mc Coist at Ibrox recently and provoked the rangers fans in the last old firm game.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

I watched the game on Sky last night and I did hear Celtic fans singing “Oh ah up the RA” RA stands for IRA and I seem to recall they were very good at making and sending explosive devices and killing innocent people.
