That's a strange question isn't it?
Bear in mind that the ever lasting alternative wouldn't in fact technically exist so it's not something that could happen to you personally. Which is kind of interesting in a not quite able to grasp it way imo.

Nothing. The concept of eternal life is a horrible fate I would not wish on any sentient being.
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are so certain of themselves, but wiser people are full of doubts.

it might never end with suicide though.
I'll say now I find the prospect of eternal life with my girlfriend incredibely appealing, but then again in a couple of quadrillion years how will I feel?
EDIT:that, a gazillion quintillion years and I'm still 0% of the way through my life? Horrible.

Il y a quelque chose de pire que d'avoir une âme perverse. C’est d'avoir une âme habituée

Do you mean being immortal or residing in an afterlife?

The question OP asks is deliberately contridictory. It is stated that it is "ever lasting" but turn around and say it 'technically doesn't exist'. I don't understand the point the OP is trying to make.

One thing is for certain: the more profoundly baffled you have been in your life, the more open your mind becomes to new ideas.

Let's think the unthinkable, let's do the undoable. Let us prepare to grapple with the ineffable itself, and see if we may not eff it after all.
mmh, eternal life, so not dying? When do I get born then?
This topic is poorly thought out at best, like Turbo said it doesn't even make sense. If by everlasting life you simply mean living on earth forever that is something entirely different than everlasting life meaning the soul goes on to live with God or something like that. You really need to be more specific and thoughtful if you want any good answers.

I would definitely love to live for 10 million years or more. Sure it would suck to see those you care for die off, but the wonders the Universe has to offer is more than worth it.
Who cares.
