Cant start a Roman campaign,help!

Basically,click new campaign.
Click roman campaign with BI/ALX
Click the (scrolling words intro bit) 'click here to start roman campaign' then the arrow taking me to the bit allowing me to choose my difficulty etc.
Click the next arrow...which takes me back to the scrolling words scene.

And I cant get past this.

EDIT:This problem is occuring with pretty much every campaign...

Do you have RTW gold edtition with the latest patch and do you have a clean version?
if yes try reinstalling RTW and the Rs2

Well Im actually using the GFW version,which is essentially the gold edition,and as far as I know is of the latest patch.
But I would reinstall the main game but that means another 4 hour download :/

There are two reasons for this message.

1) You've not patched your RTW to the correct level. I've usually seen this error with RTW BI but I guess it would also be possible with RTW. There is only one version of RTW Alexander and that's 1.9.

2) When starting a 'faction specific' campaign you see the message:

In order to avoid this make sure that on the 'Faction' Campaign menu you select the 'Click here to start (faction) Campaign....' (1) before clicking on the arrow (2) in the right hand corner.

If you do that then you will see the next screen that allows some campaign options to be set up before actually starting the campaign.

If you've done the second one you don't get any error messages when you exit the program.

I dont think you quite understood my problem,I get to the final screen which simply takes me back to the introduction screen.

Check and see that your version is actually CA version 1.5 (RTW), 1.6 (BI). Some versions of Gold were 1.4.
