    @Twosocks
    If the next patch updates the sound files you could simply make the mod a "patch" type or "mod" type format and then it overwrites for sure all vanilla sounds.

    Thanks for the feedback. I havent tested to save *pack as movie pack, there was no need for that yet. If the update changes any of my modded sounds and the music I will try ofc and see what has to be modded back I doubt however that they made new "formation order sounds" (I only changed those - at least the silly tindrum sounds). I know that if I have problems there are always helpful modders out there. Now I cant wait to see what the patch does, I didnt know this can be more exciting then actually just playing the game

    I will test it seems to be more realistic and I'm a purist. I'm just hopping to be able to hear general abilities (rally troops and some others) horn when push the button
    When i cut oof music, I can always hear instructors voices? Sure yes but prefer to ask...

    The vanilla has horns for cavalry and drums for infantry. I replaced all drums and only a few horns with instructors voices. So if you command cavalry you will hear horns mostly

    Hello, I'm trying to install this great mod but I can't get it to work. How do I change the file format to patch? Maybe that'll also work for me. Thanks in advance.

    I guess you deleted all mods before you downloaded the official patch yesterday ?

    Just in case :
    - delete all mods (dont forget to delete the user script, which is usually the problem for this - C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\The Creative Assembly\total war
    shogun 2\scripts
    - verify game integrity with steam
    - restart your PC

    - then just copy the twosocks04.pack into your data folder

    I hope that helps.

    You gonna say that I'm boring with my horn sounds
    I didn't hear horn for rally troops and other abilities... I doubt that a scream from 1 mile can rally troops i think everybody will be happy to just hear horn sounds at least for abilities and instructors voices for other orders.

    I'm still downloading the whole game. (for some unknown reasons my game has been crashing and freezing more often lately) Whenever I verify the integrity of the files it always have me download the whole game ( I've already tried reinstalling, is the retail version bugged?) So the patch came out today and instead of downloading just that it uninstalled and downloaded the whole game without my consent. I will try what you posted once I finish downloading. Cheers! :

    For me and other players
    I will be very happy with horn sounds for generals abilities (historical I think and pop corn too), and the must, both, voices+horn sounds for generals abilities .
    Conclusion;
    -Generals abilities = horn sounds (+may be voices too)
    -Units= instructors voices.
    -Special Units= instructors voices.
    But I think for each movement of an unit, we need to hear the general horn and the instructor voice next, general speaks to all units with big distances, instructor speaks to his unit after. thus, when you move an unit, you hear war horn sound and just after instructor voice= = 2000% immersion

    So let me get this straight, in order to make this work i have to have all of my mods deleted? like horo removal, sashimono removal and projectile trails removal etc... i can understand the bigger ones like darthmod but after the deletion and lets say it works for me, can i have the other mods come back and it will all work together?

    Note: i don't have any of the patches installed so if that's another issue then I'll install them but the first question still applies

    Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Ah no, you dont have to delete anything. This mod works with all other "non-music" mods. Deleting other mods etc. is only necessary if it doesnt work, so you have a "clean" install. It is recommended to have a clean install before official patches too.
    I myself use darths mod with all the included submods and never had any problems and having problems with a music mod is an exception. Then and only then should you do the above cleaning.
