Default which version of Napoleon should I buy?

I'm going to buy Nappy Total War just so I can apply the Great War Mod.

Does it matter which boxed addition I get - Gold Edition, Imperial Addition etc....?

Also which version of the Great War Mod is currently released and stable? Thanks.

Currently released is 4.5. Its has some stability issues, but they will be fixed in another patch soon. And no, it doesn't matter which version you purchase, as long as its NTW.

Thanks much comerade - one more question please. I happen to own 'Empire: Total War'. I'm commited to buying Napoleon so that I can get some WWI action though. Is there any reason to install Empire or is that redundant. Does it cover a different period of history then Napoleon or do they completely overlap? Thanks.

Well, ETW is different in many ways from NTW, so if you have both already its probably worth trying out provided you have space on your computer. If your interested in the 18th century or the American Civil war (theres a mod), you should try it out.

Empire: Total War roughly covers the timeframe prior to Napoleon: Total War, but its units are generic across the timespan and don't really match the development of, for instance, uniforms during the latter part of the 18th century. That said, it's still a good game, and there are a few noteworthy mods for it, as well.
