What Video settings for Battles(3x Speed)?

I wonder what i can do for large battles so that i can run them with 3 times speed without lags?
Does unit scale matter?
What can i change in video settings for better performance?

I think you will find that 3x speed in battle will always lag a bit or a lot.

The problem is that the game dates from 2005 (or before) and the game engine does not make the most of CPUs or the features of the latest graphic cards.

And 2005 (or before) does include 2004 - the engine may date from even before that. Which would also fit inside '2005 (or before)'.....

Well that obviously depends on every settings you can make.
The largest one would probably be the resolution and unit quality.

The only good way to do it is to test it out yourself.
