Black boxes and such
Hello, my fellow Total Warriors. I've been stymied by a problem that has been bugging me for some time now. Whenever I play RTW, I always run into this:

What is going on here? I've tried editing the sharedpages and battlepages to see if it's the black background irfanview assigns messing things up. I've used xnview to save the files, but the images are still covered by a solid black box color. I'm very frustrated with this. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Very well. I found out that when I save a .tga in irfanview, the black background is saved with it. So, what I did was use gimp to edit the sharedpage file and battlepage, then saved it. GIMP saves the file without any black backgroud. You can use XNview to verify that there is no colored background.
Since I'm using windows 7, I went to Computer-> C-> Users -> StrikeEagle (that's my username) -> AppData -> local -> Virtual Store -> program files (i've put the program in program files folder) -> the creative assembly. type into the search box "sharedpage" (no quotations), and delete anything that comes up. Once you've cleaned this folder up, open your fixed page up and save it using GIMP in the actual game directly itself in a folder you create. The full path should be (your game directory)\UI\roman\interface. Inside the interface folder you will save the sharedpage and battlepage images. That should do it.
