how effective is a naval blockaide of an enemys port cus' ive always avoided it as wasted effoort but is it worth it?

Wasted effort? How much effort does it take to send a fleet to attack an enemy port. As far as I'm aware, it completely stops all naval trade from the city.

The AI has a broken money script that dosnt work so it will actually be effective when it shouldnt be.

I've had campaigns where I took control of the seas and continually blockaded the enemy ports. It reduces the income they get from sea borne trade to 0......

They get huge money bonuses anyway so thats a moot point.
