once i was playing france and all of a sudden a inquisitor appears in one of my lands that is 97% christian! he first tried to kill a 8 piety genral and it worked. but then he did something that does not make sense at all! he tried to kill my 10 piety bishop prafati!

what the heck just happened their and is their a way to get him out of my land without angering the pope?

Get a good Assassin - if you assassinate someone, no one knows you did it. Also, how are your relations with the Pope - I don't seem to get attacked by the Inquisition when the Pope and I are buddies.

You wanna hear ridiculous inquisitors?
When I played as the Papal states, one of my inquisitors was supposed to put an Imam on trial for heresy against the christian faith - and the F-ing Imam cleared the test!
I mean COME ON!!! The guy was a MUSLIM! And my guy was an INQUISITOR - that´s like the second worst kind of christian fanatic there is! I figured that was ridiculous.

Anyway, for your problem, you need to either have a super good assasin to kill him, use the little "surround-and-squish" trick, or try to use soldiers to push him out of the region.

It's not about the percentage of the population who is Christian at all, though. Inquisitors are used by the Pope as a way of making factions he doesn't like fall into line. It's a witch hunt in which other Christians are found not to be "true believers." If you don't want inquisitors, suck up to the Pope. Maintain good relations, and he won't bother you.
