Realistic Onager Impact
Ok, I'm starting this thread in the same spirit that Archer started the Realistic Horse Thread in. While I am relatively unable to help, except in concept, it seems that this should be easy to accomplish. What I propose is to use the Particle system to simulate a realistic onager impact. The boiling oil particles would be appropriate, or it may be possible to create a new "liquid fire" particle. The effect might be similar to the catapults in Gladiator, where the chamber pot hits a tree and spews fire in an arc. Since there are whole files dedicated to the onager impact, it seems like it wouldn't be too difficult to link this event to either the sound or the original onager impact.
It just seems that the current onager impact is lacking, especially in night battles with Archers Skymod. They just go out in a split second.
So, anyone got any ideas?

Anyone?
Ok, I waited for 76 views. That's almost twice as many as it took for someone to reply to the Realistic Horse Thread. I'm dissapointed in you NTO! Seriously though, This kind of thing seems like a relatively simple step-off from the blood mod. All one would have to do (in theory) is link the spray of hot stuff to the impact of the onager.
Or have I deluded myself and no one is interested in this?

this is actually not hard, and I did make the onager impact longer lasting in one of my unreleased skymod versions. Basically I made the light flicker longer (BI and RTW with BI) at impact, but of course, i also wanted to the ground and the trees to turn into fire, but that proved to be impossible so far.
If you got BI and you got the RTW with the new light effects (from BI) you can mess around the length of the impact light (forgot the name of the text file for it).
Since my test-version was creating a lag, i never really went any further and moved back to the default lights.
