NOTE: Modding Legions skins are now included in XGM, so compatibility files will no longer be provided here. The UI cards are not included in XGM, so if you want those you will have to install them seperately. See the post below for compatibility files for older versions of XGM.-DBH

    Modding Legions Compatibility Files

For those who don't know about it Modding Legions is a set of skins for Roman units only and also adds an extra officer/standard bearer in some of the units.

Attached please find the descr_model_battle.txt and export_descr_unit.txt files to integrate the Modding Legions Roman skins into XGM. These files incorporate the skins and additional officer units of Modding Legions while retaining the new animations and all original XGM unit stats.

Instructions (as always it is a good idea to backup your original files)

    (1) Copy the two attached files into your xgm/data folder.
    (2) Download the Modding Legions pack and copy the Models_unit and Sprites folders from the ML pack into your main RTW data folder.
    (3) Download the Modding Legions UI pack and copy the UI folder into your xgm/data folder. (optional)

Froggie5: Nice one. For the screenshots I always use: http://www.imageshack.us/

Okay. Quick test on a saved game encountered no problems - the new skins were integrated just fine. Here are a few images from a Roman v. Greeks custom battle.

    Praetorians v. Spartans

    Hypastists v. Triarii

    Spartans v. Hastati

I changed these to thumbnails. -DBH

    Hi,
Not sure if this was corrected already but these Roman units are not using the ML cas models.

    Hi Ferres,

First of all, thanks for all of your work.

The screenshots above used an outdated version of ML - the last few iterations have all used the latest ML files. For example:

    Triarii v. Sacred Band

Urbans take one for the team

Froggie5, to avoid your images resized you have to apply some compression and stay under 500KB, which is also desiderable to let dial-up users load the pics in reasonable times...

Okay - I resized and saved on Imageshack, which allows for larger images. See above

The pak extractor is here: http://www.twcenter.net/downloads/db/?mod=43

You need this if you are running XGM-BI from the main data folder. If you are running it from the xgm folder (this is how it normally installs) you can just copy the UI cards into xgm/data/ui and they should work fine without having to extract anything.

Froggie5 , that reskining project you've been working looks cool .... i'll give it a go when i'm bored with the ones i'm using now
Just to clarify, the skins are by Ferres/Godzilla. All I did was change some entries in the text files.

The thread for Modding Legions can be found here:

DBH - thanks, worked like a charm. So, anyone interested in unit cards to match these Roman skins just download from the link above (post #801), unzip, and place the UI folder in XGM/Data.

Sorry, but I'm a little lost with the unit card thing. I thought I had to place the Legion Mod in my RTW/Data dir, didn't think it would work in XGM/Data.

So I installed the Legion Mod into my RTW/Data directory, can I just copy over the UI folder in RTW, or do I need to unpack?

    Thanks!

mdibatti - you should copy the modding legion folders (models_unit and sprites) and the text files I uploaded in your XGM/data folder, not the RTW one. Download the unit cards and just copy the UI folder into XGM/Data. If the folders and files are not in the XGM subdirectory it won't work with XGM. I don't know about unpacking the UI folder for use in the RTW/Data directory as I have only used them with the XGM mod.
