Default The Holy Roman emperor demands my land?

So I am playing with Burgundy and as always I am the master of infamy (I don't really care since I have no imprtant enemies, France is almost non-existant and the German mionrs are, well minors). However I do care about a big chunk of unlawful imprial territory since these Bohemian idiots are demnading my land. Any way to turn unlawful to lawful without having to deal with the Emperor (aka beat the dog out of him and his empire?)

Unlawful imperial territory are provinces inside the Empire without a proper core. So the easiest solution is to remove the province out of the Empire (with a provincial decision) or wait until you get a core (after 50 years).

You can only remove land from the empire if you are not a part of the empire. The only way to avoid this event if you war within the empire is if you already have a core on the land before taking it, or the emperor is caught in a war, as it seems that the event cannot fire while he or you are in a war.

Leaving the Empire in Divine Wind is trickier, since you have to give up any HRE land that isn't Cored. Release any nations you can as vassals, then go on the HRE tab, and click Leave Empire. Eventually you'll have to re-annex those vassals. If you do that or do anything else that then gains you HRE land, use the province decision to remove it from the Empire.

Alternatively, tell him to stick it and take the stab hit. You'll gain -0.25 infamy a month for that province until it cores or you release it. Do NOT ever pick the other option however. If you're running 5.1 beta (which you should, otherwise the HRE goes to hell), the Emperor will simply release it as a new nation if he can, so you're better off releasing that nation as a vassal yourself.

Give a man a fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of the day.
