Titles
Hi!
I'm playing 2.02, and I have a q about titles. Are they inheritable? I mean, I took Constantinople (with my Turks), and my Sultan recieved the Fateh of Constantinople (or something like that). But that Sultan have died a few turns ago, and that title seems to be missing ever since. I tried to move the next Sultan into the city, with no effects whatsoever.
Thanks for your help in advance,
Colos

Re: Titles
No it is not. Sultan/amir of Istanbul is inheritable though.

Re: Titles
Well, thanks. It's interesting, though. The Sultan who did not get the title has died since. His successor did get the title, along with 'Lord of the Third Holiest Place of Islam' thingie (when you get Jerusalem). But that sultan ascended to power at an old age, so died just a few turns later, and his successor is title-less again

Re: Titles
I think the title is acquirable only by the one who conquers a city. His successors don't conquer it, so they don't receive it.
You can't really inherit a "The Conqueror" title, if you are not the actual conqueror.

Re: Titles
Is this an ancillary? If so, check out if your new Sultan has already 8 anc, which is the maximum number that you can get. If he does have 8 anc, move one of them to another character and a new one will appear.

Re: Titles
Both are in fact ancillaries, however, I'm sure that my current Sultan has way less ancillaries than 8.
@Wudang_Clown: I do see your point, but then how do you explain that the title for Constantinople has already been inherited once?

Re: Titles
Btw Isnt there any way to break 8-ancillary-limit hard code?

Re: Titles
Apparently I was wrong, the Sultan in question did have 8 ancillaries
Lesson #12: learn to count before asking ^^
Thanks all,
