    Default Shogun will not start

I just recieved a replacement computer from alienware after a very long hassle i've had with them. The graphics card in this new system is only temporary. Here are the specs
i7960, Geforce gtx 295, 6 gb ram. I installed steam and installed the game. When I start click on S2 icon, i get the loading screen in the beginning that says SHOGUN 2 TOTAL WAR, and it has the creative assembly logo on there. Well that screens shows for about 15 seconds then it just goes to desktop. I try again and same thing. The game won't get past the first splash screen.

Now my old system was an i7930, ati radeon hd 6950 and 6 gb ram.

Well any ideas before i uninstall/reinstall?

First, go into steam, right click the game in your library, go to properties, then the local files tab and verify the games cache. if it needs to redownload files, let it.

If that doesnt work try this:

    1. Download driver sweeper and the latest Nvidia drivers.
    2. Install driver sweeper, but not the drivers.
    3. Go to your device manager (Start > My Computer > Right click my computer> Properties > Hardware tab > Device manager.
    4. Find the GPU in the list, right click it and click uninstall.
    5. Restart your pc as prompted.
    6. As the PC is restarting, tap F8 on your keyboard until you see a boot screen which will have "SAFE MODE" in it.
    7. select safe mode using your keyboards arrow keys and let it load.
    8. Once in safe mode click driver sweeper and put a check mark next to any ATI or Nvidia options and click "CLEAN".
    9. When its done it will prompt you to reboot your pc, click yes.
    10. Load up windows normally and now install the Nvidia drivers you downloaded.

Also be sure your windows is fully updated.
Visit www.Microsoft.com and run the Update tool on the site.

Also install the latest directx and .NET framework, all of which can be downloaded at microsoft.com as well.
