Application error when patching 1.2
Dear friends,
I know that it has been discussed a lot, however I did not manage to find a solution searching the other topics.
I have a newly installed M2TW 1.0. When I tried to patch it to 1.2, I got the message “The application was unable to start correctly (0x0000005).” and stops
See also the picture attached
Some technical information that may help.
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1
Patch file: MIITW_update2_EFIGS_RC_Final.exe downloaded from the links provided in twcenter.net
M2TW folder : Username\Saved Games\Med2tw
The game was installed and played for some time. I un-installed it and installed it again outside Program Files folder because I have Vista. Immediately after installation I run the above patch file that I had placed it in my M2TW folder and I got the above error.
Does anyone have an idea of why is this happening, and what can I do to fix it?

Re: Application error when patching 1.2
Are you logged in as Administrator?
Do you have full Admin rights to the file?
Are you sure it's not a bad download?

Re: Application error when patching 1.2
Unfortunatelly I cannot login as admin, since this is not my laptop I am using. My PC is old enough to run M2TW
Nevertheless I installed version 1.0 and played without any problem. I just faced the problem on the update.
Regarding the bad download issue, I do not think it occurs since I have downloaded from http://www.gamershell.com/download_19011.shtml
as mentioned in http://www.twcenter.net/forums//showthread.php?t=96588
Has anyone faced this problem before?
If I install Kingdoms, will I be able to play M2TW in the latest version?
If I install Kingdoms, will I be able to play M2TW MODS such as BC and SS?

Re: Application error when patching 1.2
Moved to Tech Help.
Then, you're not updating. Only those with Admin rights to those files at login can.
You can try installing Kingdoms without Admin but no promises.
