Shogun 2 demo works, full game doesnt

Hi

The Shogun 2 demo ran fine on my laptop but I've bought the full game on DVD and it gets to the 'copy right' page then crashes to desktop with a black screen and asks to send an error report.

Why would the demo work but the full version not ?

I'm running the latest nvidia drivers, I'll have to post spec when I get home

But why should it matter if demo works ?

Also update your Realtek Audio Drivers: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false

run the game of low settings and report back

Also run http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/ and see what the results are.

The site says I fail on my CPU - but its dual core - does STW2 not support this ? I just dont get how the demo worked and the full game doesnt, I feel cheated

its the speed of the processor, did you update both drivers and retry with graphics on the lowest setting?

I did yup, how do I change the graphics without loading the game up, is there a txt file ?

Yes, but its not easy, unzip the following preferences.script file into C:\Document and Settings\Application Data\The Creative Assembley\Shogun2\scripts It should overwrite the existing file. Everything is on low and the screen resolution is 1024x768.

Thanks Alfonso, I figured it out late last night when I couldnt sleep (on anti depressants myself) - I manually edited the prefs file and set some graphics options to 0.

It doesnt look too pretty but at least I can play it.

No problem, its 4:24am here and I am not tired, cant wait to get off them so I can sleep
