Are we Nvidia Users doomed with the future Dx11 patch

As it seems, rumors appoint that the info and release of the patch depend a lot of the Amd release of the new Catalyst driver.
Does it mean that Nvidia users will be suffering terrible performance because of the CA/Amd Partnership in this game? I am starting to feel worried about the way it will perform in Nvidia cards.
What do you think about it?

It will not impact on us Nvidia users, sure AMD cards will get slightly better optimisation, but Nvidia will most likely release its next lot of drivers with updated support for S2TW anyway. Don't worry there really is nothing to worry about! The previous TW's did not suffer because of partnerships. Plus my Nvidia card gets solid, great performance right now so its unlikely to get worse!

nVidia > ATI. nVidia has the clout to do whatever it wants, plus has physX and far superior AA optimisation in general. Rule of thumb is that nVidia will win every time (coming from an ex ATI fanboy).

I think Nvidia recently released some beta drivers a few days ago that increased performance with certain games and i think SHogun2 was one of them, the only thing i remember definitely though was that they improved the performance of Dragon Age 2 by more than 500%.

Ah thanks for sharing Explains the increase in performance with DA2 i guess going from a GTX280 to a R6950 while except for DX11 and TPD it wasn't that big of an upgrade.

Nvidia dx 11 cards are fully compliant just like amd's dx 11 cards. It might favor amd initially because the cards do some things a little differently, but don't worry nvidia has a good driver team. I know Dragon Age 2 did not like nvidia cards if you had the graphics set to very high. The performance was terrible in dx 11, but the 270.51 beta driver greatly improved performance.

Hi all,

We want Shogun 2’s Directx 11 experience to be as strong as possible. Therefore following extensive testing and gamer feedback, CA and SEGA decided to implement full DX11 functionality shortly after Shogun 2’s release date. This would allow us to work a little longer on polishing DX 11 without delaying the core game experience for fans.

We're anticipating that we'll patch in this functionality 2-4 weeks after release of the game to ensure the game plays great on day one.

We will not do anything that would reduce the stability of the game.

Reviewers did get copies with DX11, and some of them experienced big issues with it. That was one of the reasons DX11 was delayed, we wanted the game to be as stable as it could.

I'm still completely baffled as to why DX11 wasn't shipped with the game. It ran great for me on an Nvidia setup. The only thing I can think of is that perhaps performance wasn't as good on ATI, and Creative Assembly / Sega decided to work with them in development (see ATI splash at launch).

It's just a theory though, I have no insider knowledge. All I know is DX11 ran great in the Shogun 2 review build, I had no problems with it.

We're not intentionally keeping people in the dark on DX11. We'll be in a position to talk about it soon. We're really pushing on this.

Of course...we are all just speculating, but no it dosent sound like many nvidia users will have problems when the DX11 patch comes
