Default Installing a new OS means having to redownload steam games?

I have like 60GB worth of steam games.

Is buying Windows 7 going to be a nightmare in regards to Steam.

Use Steam's backup facility to create backups. Copy them somewhere then copy them back over to the new one. You can then restore those on a new machine. I did that to copy a bunch of games from my old XP machine to my current 7 machine (because a bandwidth limit prevents me redownloading everything), and everything worked fine.

I believe you can also simply copy the things directly, though i'm not entirely sure on that.

When you upgrade Windows (at least from Vista to 7) you can keep all of your files.

Make steam backups onto a secondary drive before you reinstall your windows.
