The kestrophedrone (dart sling)

I was reading in a History magazine I recently got, and it mentioned the Dart slings the Macedon used and I was wondering If Macedon might receive a "Dart-sling" unit in EB2.

Probably not, it was specifically invented during the Third Macedonian War to counter Roman armour and never appeared outside of that conflict.

So its a "flaming pig" then? Guess there's scope for submods and mini-campaigns with this sort of detail.

Is there any iconic unit of limited span already in the mod? IIRC the corvus-fitted ship was a one-war thing. There might be scope for some unit types, perhaps in certain reform phases. EG the corvus ship might be available to Rome in the Polybian reforms only? Just speculating.

We don't actually have a corvus fitted ship in EB as far as I know, it gets mentioned in the descriptions but the ships are usually just generic classes (Trieme, Quinquereme..etc).

I'm afraid you are, the description of the Quadrireme mentions that the corvus was used during the 1st Punic war but that is all.

In was mentioned in Ancient Warfare magazine, and I think as was said above it was not an important weapon and only appeared during the Third Macedonian War with minimum or no succsses on the battlefield, so it was worth nothing.

It was that magazine, it mentions that it was used, and quoted Livy as saying "...and if it hit someone, he was seriously wounded..."

Said nothing about it being worthless.
