    Default Insert Kingdoms Disc

    Right, after sorting out the 51 turn bug, I thought it might be plain sailing. Well no, just another problem.

    So I'm further on having a blast then screen froze on campaign map and had to open up task manager and end the program. Went to restart and now it just keeps on saying 'please insert Kingdoms disc'. Not the first time its happened but I just simply took it out the disc drive, put back in and its sorted. But now its permanently stuck. Even the Kingdoms vanilla Campaigns cant play. I'm on Vista if that helps and its not the DVD drive as I've tested out other discs. Read on some threads it has something to do with conflicting patches. Is this true with Stainless Steel 6.3?

    And please no replies with - get SS6.4, tried installing that already and failed a number of times and got worked up. Also I'm lovin the current campaign I'm doing.

    Cool
    Aside from the t51 bugfix i'd recomment the fixes patch linked in the 6.3 release topic if it happens again.

    ^ Right - since this post I've had hit and misses when putting in my disk. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't but I've spent the last hour or so putting in the disk, taking it out, cleaning it to make sure etc and it still comes up with error messages. So if anyone can help, where be these patch updates?

    Taken a look around the place and came across this thread which states patches as well;

    Plllllease help anyone who has some know how about what the issue is.

    Edit: Its all patched fine. 1.5 is up to date so I dont think its a patch issue.

    Actually I think this is my actual drive - doesn't seem to want to read anything anymore. Will update in due course when i get it seen to.

    clean your disk with toothpaste, also you can create a virtual drive if you have the software and copy the kingdoms.exe file to it...search the forum its on here somewhere.
