hi guys , im new to this forum ..ive been playing shogun 2 for some time and i dont know exactly how to install and use mods. Can you guys please teach me how to do so
thanks
you will find that all mod threads have full instructions on how to download and install them. as i t tends to differ from mod to mod, it is best to look at the one you are most interested in first, and see what information they give, then ask in that thread for specific help.

For most of them, all you have to do is drop the pack file into the Shogun 2/data folder within the steam folder.
Some mods like Darthmod have installers that do that for you.

drop the pack file? how can i locate this steam folder. i cant find the steam folder thing
For me the path is this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\total war shogun 2\data
If you don't have windows 7 you may drop the "(x86)" I'm pretty sure.

How can I use the units that shows "Cannot recruit units" in the website above in custom battle?
Download the additional units mod/pack. google it
Try Radius Mod (name might be wrong, sorry) in sub-mod section.
you will get alot units that can't be recruit or seen in the normal game play.
Its easy to make war with others, its never been easy when we need a peace.
My holy damn simple tactic; Strike First, Strike HARD and SHOW NO MERCY.
Here, this one unlocks some vanilla units (Radious Unit Mod)

the (x86) is only if you are running 64 bit, i believe

how about a fantasy overhaul set in the naruto universe for us anime freaks? it's already divided into great villages (instead great clans) and small villages (minor clans) and common outfits would be ok as a kiso ninja + clan colour, also they have more war like armors that look like the yari samurai i guess. has village leader (daimyo) has spies, has secret ANBU units (normal ninja agent) and those Wako raiders can be Akatsuki appearing here and there cousing damage
Fine. Get all 9 ninja villages and their crests. Find things like the Konoha village will sport navy blue get up while the Sand village will go for sand khaki.
(Its clickable by the way....An S2 overhaul mod.)
Seriously. Click it. Its the only overhaul mod that's overhauling enough to bring out NEW clans

Hello fellow players, i need some advice. Just bought S2 two days ago. Ten years in the game and there are only a few big clans left. Great clan destroyed spam all the way. Not my idea of fun. At least not after 10 years.
So i was looking for a mod that balances gameplay. Where a Long campaign really is long. I dont really care for more units. Slow expansion, buildup your economy, AI teaming up against big boys etc.
Thanks in advance.
*so far i applied some mini mods like garrison mod, AI unrest for conquered regions, reduced AI cheating and it seems to help balance things out more. Any more tips are always welcome.
I'm an experienced total war player who's just bought Shogun 2 and was wondering what the best way to start playing this game is, in regard to mods or patched vanilla. I gather that it is a pretty solid game when patched to the current version, but was wondering whether there is a particular mod, or perhaps a cluster of small ones, that should be applied straight away as just a general improvement? I'd like to keep the character of the original game as I've obviously not played it before, but basically am looking for anything that slightly improves the game or fixes any little annoyances not fixed by CA. All advice appreciated.
DarthMod. Doesn't drastically change any features, but improves the AI to make it more of a challenge. I'd recommend playing on Hard.
Depends on what you want from the game. If you decide to keep battle system vanilla, then try not to blink too much, or you'll miss the battle
