Default Are you getting file corruption?

Every so often my game starts to slow. I lose frame rates, graphics start to glitch etc etc.

If I verify game cache via steam, 3 files do not verify every time. I redownload them, then all is well again. Don't know what files it is, or what is causing it, but some how, some files are being corrupted.

If you are having any glitches, try doing the same, and post your results here.

Go to www.ccleaner.com and under products, choose defraggler. My steam is on a partition by itself and it get defragmented easily. That might help.

This is a sign of system instability.. When I first built my computer I had that problem.
You shouldn't get more then one failed verify per game within any reasonable amount of time.

Clean dust out(dust can cause overheating and can cause shorts), check temps, ensure your memory timing are set correctly.. check your voltages with occt.

My problem was low Vcore and north bridge volts..
It's probably because of my 6 year old 550 watt Cooler Master PSU(11.45V with 450 millivolts of ripple on my +12V at full load lol)
It can't quite handle a GTX470, plus my mobo only has 2 phase power so that introduces noise into the power and uses max droop and drop.
I should add that I was unable to create errors in any burn in tests... Is simply noticed that my Vcore was below my VID and that I had low latency memory that could be overwhelming my north bridge.

    My New PSU comes tomorrow.

Now the only game that will crash is dragon age dx 11.. no file corruption(haven't tried it post patch).

-->I'd guess most data corruption in total war is from instability in memory and/or CPU at full load.

You really shouldn't get more then one byte copy error per terabyte of data transfered.

I'll add if a DEP exception works to minimize crashes.. you've got an unstable computer.

@CA--> you could throttle down people systems a bit before saving, lock panning before saves do tests to ensure data isn't corrupt before saving... but people with stable systems will complain about longer save times and apparent system hang.
