The idiots in depositfiles and megaupload have removed all the files due to "copyright infringement" and I can't figure out how to download anything from strategyinformer, so I've been using FileFront. However, the .exe file on Filefront has been infected with a freaking virus. Can anyone tell me of a mirror, or how to get it from strategyinformer? The button that says "download now" just takes me to some PDF reader on sonicdownloads.

edit: No, wait, found out how. It was a little more down. However, it's also infected with " not-a-virus:AdWare.Win32.Agent.smy"

AVIRA gives false positive too...some AV just overdo their thingi

sure...but...instructions for what ?
There is no virus...its a false positive from some anti-virus progams
I use AVIRA-Antivirus and It blocked RSII setup.exe for the same reason you posted...blabla win32.agent

so I just unplugged Internet cable and disabled the anti-virus program and then installed RSII with no further disturbances

ahhh...dont know..it depends on the AV programm...they all have some option somewhere...like...enable/disable guard...have a look in the main menu...what AV do you use ?

if you cant find it you can just terminate the process in the task manager...once you are done you could reboot the pc and the av would just come back normal as all av in the pc-startlist

I use win7 and AVIRAAntiVir has a direct guard enable/disable option in the right click menu

cmon buddy...donwload all needed RSII files + the RSII setup.exe...disconnect from internet...disbale AV...install RSII and done... ...
reactivate AV...reconnect IT and well...here you go...

EDIT
if your AV is trying to interrupt the download of the exe just disable the AV before...its a few seconds anyway...once you are done cut IT during install to avoid the AV blocking execution of the exe

Ok, turned AV off, downloaded, then disconnected from web. Currently installing it.

I reinstalled RTW. I installed 1.3 and 1.5. I can't seem to reinstall BI. I installed this. I start the launcher. I choose Rome 1.5 instead of BI. Then the damn mod doesn't work.

I've spent more or less my entire afternoon with this. I ing hate computers right now.

Clearly many people play RSII with either the RTW, RTW BI or RTW Alex executables. So, clearly this mod does work.

Double A, you don't strike me as a particularly techy guy. If the mod doesn't work, read the installation instructions again, this time carefully. You probably made a mistake somewhere.
