Wrong Terrain Description

In my Europe Campaign, when i hover my mouse over the map, every single place it's defined as grassland, no plains, no hills, no swamps, just grassland the woods i guess their description work, hilly light forest, light forest, and that's about it right?. Even when i place my mouse over a very high hiill, like for example the ones in Spain. Hence in every battle i'm in there's nothing but flat battlefields, sure there's foliage, bushes, grass, trees, sometimes there's house wagons and all of that.

Does it have something to do with the recent updates of my graphics and sound drivers?

It can't be because of your updates, you probably just messed something in the game files. Go to Steam Library and verify your game cache.
