I cant load my save or load campaign

I have made a good campaign in RS II, but after my brother added an already used saved into the files, I can't load my campaign or start a new one.

Here are the questions I have to answer, I will answer with the info I know:

- What version of RTW do you use? ... As far as I know, the latest one, and it is RTW not BI.

- Are you using steam or not? ... No

- Install path ... I am guessing you mean where did I start the download, if so Creative Assembly folder.

- Which launcher option have you used (exe, faction etc) ...Sparta, RTW.ex

There was also an error report, and it said the following:

Script Error in play/data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign/descr_strat.txt at line 12, column 1 Expected Start date of campaign or battle

I will find out what my brother did with the save if you need the info. For now this is all I got, and I am bored as hell.

looks like RTW is not patched to 1.5

It sounds like the descr_strat.txt file is messed up. Either it's a failed modding attempt or as chris10 has pointed out R:TW is not patched to 1.5.

If you can launch the game check the top right hand side of the options menu - that's the version number of the game you are playing. If you are using R:TW it should be 1.5, R:TW BI it shoyld be 1.6 and R:TW Alex it should be 1.9.

The other thing to try is to delete the map.rwm files. This is now an option from the launcher.

Where did your brother get the save from? What else have they done to the install?

In future it may be best to have a copy of the RSII install for yourself and one for your brother. It's easy to do if you follow the install instructions in the Release Thread.
