Default Do people who play this game have no sense of sportsmanship

I quit playing 1v1's because i cant stand people
    1. killing my general
    2. pulling the plug
    3. rage quiting
    4. raging
    5. camping
    6. spamming art than killing my general with
    7. bringing ninjas that go right through my gen
    8. on classical battles people who play as the hattori and put all their units right in front of you and behind you before the deployment is even over
    9. Running around the map with cavalry and asking you to quit so they can get a clan token
    10. people who hide 1 unit in the forest and making you have to find it
    11. people who spam nothing but cav and run around with it
    12. People who hide in the forest and then pop out of no where and kill your general Now i know 3 of these are basically the same thing but they all happened to me and i wanted to know who else is playing these people i miss napoleon and med 2 where people had morality but since CA advertised on a lot of web sites and Machinima a bunch of CoD fans came into the game i guess

Ok, couple problems with your post here.

    1. Killing your general is the point. General dies, army fails, battle over, I win. Never played Chess? The entire purpose of the game is to kill the king.

    2. The Hattori are a ninja clan. They are SUPPOSED to be able to position outside the normal deployment area. This is the advantage of their faction. This is why every single hattori unit costs 25% more than the normal equivalent.

    3. Ninja are ninja. Using them is not a hack, nor against the rules, nor unsportsmanly. You have access to Kisho Ninja too. It's 45 guys with almost no armor, just kill them.

    4. Artillery are also part of the game, and using them is not against the rules. YOU can make artillery, it's just a unit. If you cant deal with it, find a way around it. Try including artillery in your army. Honestly, did you play Napoleon without any cannons?

As for the rest, though, yes. Unplugging/ragequits are stupid. If you cant stand losing, dont ing play. Hiding 1 unit in the trees somewhere is also stupid. If you cant WIN, dont be a prick and try to force the other guy to get bored and quit. That said, you can usually find that unit if you look around.

You're missing out on quite a bit by doing this, especially since this is the best MP in the series. And no AI will compare to a matchup of two minds.

And people wonder why I don't play MP at all, anywhere. Too much drama and emotions.

    Also, way to blame Machinima.

    1. Killing generals is a fair strat, actually its the most efficient way to finish a battle. You got to watch where your general going.

That said, though, spaming arty then trying to aim for opponents general's quite unfairplay with ridiculous accuracy of ranged units in this game.

    2. Thats the way the Hattori plays, you can do nothing against it.

Now you know whats more frustrating? I cant even play Hattori since I own only Steam copy of the game with some shjtty extra costume for TF2, it annoys me to no end seeing people having fun with that ninja clan while I paid the same as they did.

    3. Cav spamming, arty spamming, unit hiding abusing etc. reflect CA's inability to balance their games, its no surprise given their track record. They obviously gave quite an effort trying to balance multiplayer game by giving people nonsense units like loaned sword ashigaru, but it didnt work out well. Multiplayer is fun, but it lacks seriously in balancing department to the point veteran strategy players would never give its ranking board a serious consideration.

My time would better be spent on SC2, hell, even WoW arena than Shogun 2 or total war multiplayer in general. Better stay single or co-op campaign with your buddy.

Yes thats how the Hattori should play and Arty and Ninja's Are there for a reason im fine with ninjas if they dont go for your gen and i dont care about arty as long as it goes for your gen because your gen is basicly all your armies morale and fighting ability wraped into 1 man

It would probably benefit you to do more to keep him alive.

the only thing that annoys the crap out of me is the campers. what is there to do if a player does the noob box thing? then some of them even put artillery in the middle of their oob box and just wait for you, thats just unfair
there should be a trait that players recieve if their army is not covering a certain amount of the battlefield, cmon, i get the coward one for having my general routing when im losing a battle lol

Keep your general alive, its not a cavalry unit, its a general for god's sake. Not that it is hard to keep the general alive.

Hm...sometimes it feels like if something goes wrong with the win/loose ratio the people start to blame here game balance, CA, the players how did better them then and so on.

In my opinion there is a way to counter nearly all spam tactics, campers and also high rank player.
If you wanna play successfully you just have to study the tactics that beated you. You can on the hand use same strategie and see what others doing against this or think about counter possibility.
Watch replays of the battles if you dont know why you lost. Bring patient in game. Yes all wanna have 10 stars in one day. But at the end this game is about having good battles. Prepare in relation to the founds, the level of your opponent, and the map you playing on. If you lost to much and get angry just close game and do something else. Read a book, watch a film, make your girlfriend happy or just sleep .

For me even the bugged multiplayer brings alot of fun.You have random battles with people all over the world. Nearly every game is something different. Yes maybe it sometimes more challinging to think all the time about new army, vets , special abilities and so on. But compared to medieval II where I played alot mp, there is more varity in games. Most medII Mp battles had strict rules because of unbalanced units. So like cav spam was close to unbeatable. But i think in S2 it is possible. As now you can beat cav with inf...run down art with cav...hide in wood and walk around your opponent....shoot rockets with bowSamurais....send peasants again gununits...and so on.

Just dont take loosing to serious....and.....HF

I know hes not... I played this series since Rome and i never had a problem with generals till now maybe is because that art is dead on accurate and that i cant see most of my enemy's forces because their either in the forest or he just really likes ninjas i made it so my general has all the melee upgrades im level 8 1/2 so i got it maxed out and 4 plus speed so he can run as fast as frenchman i always keep him in the back of my army because in all the other games that was "safe"
