Freeze on logo screen

Yes I know this has been covered many times before but none of the solutions help me. The game starts to load and it just freezes on the screen that first comes up, and it freezes my whole laptop. If you need any specs etc. you need, can you please tell me how to tell you them?

How old is your computer? Where you able to run Napoleon or Empire, or any new and demanding games out there?

If you can run other new games, then ignore this. But when I first got Empire, my old laptop would do the same thing. It was technically capable of running Empire, but since it was old it was overheating before it could actually start, and it would just freeze at the loading screen. Check and see if your computer has dust in it if it's not brand new and you haven't cleaned it before, the answer is yes.) My computer was having issues playing NTW the other day, I cleaned it out, and it was good as new.

If this isn't the case, you may just want to turn down the graphics. There are also some options in steam to help you troubleshoot, looking for a link now.

Well it's brand new and I had it for Christmas, but it is Windows 7 so I was wondering maybe there is a way around that. And also, I don't even get to the menu, it just loads and freezes before I can do anything at all. Another thing, it doesn't play Empire either, the same thing happens but on my computer it works fine.
EDIT: It is meant to run games better than my computer because of the graphics etc.

The first thing is update your RealTek sound drivers. your version conflicts with the game. www.guru3d.com or www.realtek.com.tw.

Search the site for RealTek High Definition Audio, newest version being 2.58, downnload it preferably to your desktop and run it from there.
