I'm not in any rush to get the patch either way. I suspect that Directx11 is going to cause more problems with the game than is worth it.

its not really dx11 thats the issue.

actually this poll reflects public opinion/faith in CA. so it is kinda interesting.

It is whether we believe the promises made by the CA guys or not. I had Shogun 2 pre ordered and by the time I knew that there was no DX11 and AA I had it installed. I therefore feel cheated. CA has made promises about a patch I don’t believe them and I believe they give “Snake oil salesmen” a bad name.
This poll has a purpose in that it will give CA an idea of how much this community trusts them.

I voted yes, because they didn't give any prior indication/notice that they were releasing the MP patches either.
Oh, and to quote Mike Stoklasa "What's wrong with your face?" I'm just asking because I have a very expressively capable one too.
Edit; It really doesn't matter one iota to me since the game looks great on high, and until we get quad-core optimization, performance will not change, and I'm not starting a new campaign until Imagawa are in, probably when we get mod tools, in any event, after dx11.

I never ever pre-order a Creative Assembly game. I bought the game knowing about the Directx/aa thing. CA btw has never cared about the community or its fans. All it cares about are sales and profit.

I voted No, I am a pessimist. I would rather see gameplay issues then a graphics update. Just remember, they already have your money.... and if they release DLC like Warhammer 40K DOW II just did.... yea remember its about money not service, look at the end user license agreement.

Whats with all these threads asking about the patch recently? The statement by Lusted was extremely vague and I wouldnt put money on the patch being out within 4 weeks, but who cares since the game is good without a patch being nedded.

Actually the statement was very precise. 2-4 weeks means Maximum 4 weeks. Can't be much more precise than that.

I care because I like AA in my games and i find once you have done one campaign the novelty value starts to wear off.

therefore am not playing until i get the patch. also atm the units arent particurlarly great in my opinion in terms of visuals. (not just aa but something re the glint/transparency/shading)

moreover from afar they look like crap. sorry.

apart from that game is absolutely brill. however for me the aa issue spoils the game.

Well it looks great on my computer, up close and far away, so i can't really complain, but i guess it might not look as good on other computers, so i sort of understand where your coming from. If this patch does optimise it for multiple cores though it would be nice, although it still won't stop me playing the game. Gameplay is more important to me and gameplay is more than good enough for me plus since it already looks fine for me i can't really see the patch adding much of importance.

Maybe i phrased it poorly, but what i meant was he could just be pulling that number from anywhere, it could just be a random period of time. He will have had no idea how long it was going to take for them to finish that patch, it's more as a guide rather than definite numbers as all of you seem to be thinking. You people certainly lack patience if you can't wait a little longer, there are no game breaking problems with the game, so why does it matter if the patch isn't released exactly on the dot within 4 weeks. Besides they could be adding a crap load more stuff to the patch to try and minimise the number of patches they have to release for all you know, the whole thing makes perfect sense to me, but i guess I'm the only one.

actually if your saw some of mine you might say i had nothing to complain about. but that's not the point here really. its the lack of a basic feature.

Indeed, all i need from the car is for me to be able to drive it, why would i care if it wasn't painted, especially if i knew somebody was going to come along and paint it sooner or later anyway.

The fact that some find (for some weird reason) acceptable to be lied to (not only the car was delivered unpainted, but that happened after the manufacturer promised it would have been released painted) and to receive less value than promised for their money, doesn't make it generally acceptable.

On top of it, people encouraging this kind of bait and switch behavioir by justifying it are actively damaging us all as a customerbase.
