Kingdoms Crashes On Startup [Vista]

I was recently looking through my games and decided to reinstall M2:TW and Kingdoms. M2 works beautifully, but when I start Kingdoms, it loads the Medieval 2 Total War screen, then crashes with an error box, but with no text.

I've tried reinstalling, but to no avail. What should I do so I can play the expansion?

Did you click kingdoms.exe?

Yeah, the Kingdoms campaign icons. The kingdoms.exe is not standalone as medieval2.exe is. The kingdoms.exe has to be used by one of the four campaigns or a mod based on a Kingdoms campaign.

Oh, well I'm pressing kingdoms.exe. Is there anything that I can do? I've run as an admin, and in xp mode.

No. Run Crusades campaign. It uses the kingdoms.exe. Stainless Steel 6.4 uses it. DLV uses it. Third Age uses it.

You CANNOT click it have and have it work. It is NOT wriiten by CA to do so.

Even if you have XP installed it will not work.

Alright I got it now. I used the launcher. Thanks for all your help.
Are there any mods you could recommend for Kingdoms or M2?

I've listed three Kingdoms ones above are Kingdoms. The one in my sig is Kingdoms.

The big one still Medieval2 is Broken Crescent.

There is a bunch, some "finished", some still trying to get there, some in the early stages.
