    Default Windows 7 install issues.

Cpu: E8500 (standard clock of 3.16)
    Gpu: 9800GTX+
    Mobo: Gigabyte X48-DS4
Ram: Crucial Ballistix 1 gig (Was 2 gigs, but 1 stick broke I'm having a very bad day atm)
Boot HDD: Seagate Barracuda (400 gigs, 7.2k)

The problem: Basically I have decided to upgrade to windows 7 from XP. Im installing on a blank hard drive, and when it installs it goes through fine, gets to "completing installation". Does that, then reboots, to a blank screen. Completely black, no cursor, nothing. I then try and reboot and it just says: "the computer restarted unexpectantly or encounter an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install windows, click ok to restart the computer and then restart the installation."
I have reinstalled it again, same thing.

I've been scouring the internet for quite a while and lots of people have a similar problem which occurs at the same stage, except they have a cursor and I don't. Their problem was sorted by bringing up command prompt in the install screen, and entering compmgmt.msc to get the device manager, then disabling the video card. This hasn't worked for me.

All other hard drives are disconnected
Only the monitor, mouse and keyboard are plugged in.
Installing from a clean freshly formatted harddrive.

    Thanks in advance

Edit: Ah yes I forgot, Im installing 32 bit btw.

    Update:
Just swapped in a new 1 terrabyte WD drive, and switched to 2 different 1 gig sticks of Ram, installed again.

Can you boot XP and install from there?

I've fixed it now. For some reason installing with the 9800GTX+ in there didn't work.
Switched to a 5770 and it worked fine.
    Bizarre.

    5770's the better card anyways.

I have 2 and they still dont perform as well in crossfire as the 9800GTX+. I have a suspicion they may be broken.

5770 can play Bad Company 2 (DX11) on highest settings no problem, let alone two of them.

Have you tried it without the crossfire?

Yeah, but I should really give it another go. Bit of a waste otherwise. I'll do it after my exams are over though, cba with faffing with computers right now.
