This really irritates me - is there a fix? It happens thus: when you select a garrisoned city, and select a single soldier, say......then move him to another city, if as he's walking you select another single soldier to move he will be deselected when the 1st (or any other) soldier arrives at his destination. Which means, if you don't reselect the single unit, your next click will move the entire stack (because CA force-select it ALL for you.)
This was present in Empire first, and annoys the mary-hell out of me. What is the point in allowing multiple units to move at the same time (a good thing) if you keep forcing the selection back to ALL whenever a unit arrives at its destination (a very bad thing)? What on earth is the point - and don't you realise it causes no end of issues?
This behaviour explains all the issues I had with Empire - where whole stacks would march off to my click even when I was certain I had only selected a single unit to do so. What a stupid design - it makes unit movement a real pain, completely negating the point of allowing multiple units to move independently at the same time.
And while we're at it - replays recording pauses? What in holy-hell is that about? Has nobody managed to remove the pauses from replays yet? Gee - if there was one single simple thing I'd ask for from CA for TW it would be this. Then the selection supidity - which I suppose is maintained in S2. How can they think it is a good idea?
So, with faint hope I ask, any fixes?
