    Default oda clan needs help

    every campaign I play Oda clan gets wiped first turn. it's just wrong it's the clan that almost unified Japan. I'm hoping a patch to help ai play defence. Too often ai leave castle empty and carry full force to att.

    download darth mod.

    extract scripting.lua from patch3.pack or patch2 <- use pack file manager found in the tutorial forums.

    down TROM3 mod. open the scripting.lua from that mod and find the little section that adds reinforcement to the oda clan and copy paste it to your own scripting.lua. <- can edit with notepad++

    if you want to, merge your scripting.lua with darth's mod and start new campaign. <- use pack file manager, extract all of the .db from darth's mod to a folder, then choose to make a new mod, change it to movie type then add your scripting.lua and the .db and save it.

    now the oda clan will survive the start but the tokugawa will get crushed early on in exchange.

    Yeah Oda gets wiped out first turn in all my campaigns too. I don't really mind because I usually am somebody like Shimazu or Chosokabe and am nowhere near them anyway.

    Oda sits right next to Tokugawa and the northern minor-clan is pretty strong at the start, while Oda starts off pretty weak and has a rebellion to quell turn one.

    I think if Tokugawa or the other clan wasn't at war with Oda at the same time as the other, Oda might stand a chance. Oda just gets the short end of the starting conditions stick and suffers for it. Sad because it should stand so much more of a major clan.

    I love how "Major" clans in this game tend to get wiped out by minors within the first 10 turns...

    date, in my other post when i mention copy pasting the oda reinforcement from TROM3 to his scripting.lua, it included a script for forcing a peace treaty between the oda and tokugawa at turn 1. but it usually gets broken about 4-5 turns later after the oda has crushed the rebellion and taken mino.

    Interesting... does Oda put up a fight against Tokugawa or do they just get steamrolled?

    well out of the 10+ campaigns i started to test darth's mod while using my modified scripting.lua, after breaking the treaty the oda will pretty much always take out the tokugawa (have seen the imagawa done it once. W.T.F! right?). after that it becomes like a 70% chance the oda will go on to take over half of the provinces east of kyoto. the other 30% is the chance of the imagawa not going to war with the hojo/takeda and manage to maintain enough forces to hold the oda back, allowing the asai to take them out from the back.

    Sounds good and even somewhat realistic to me!

    I thought Oda only had a rebellion when the player was using them?

    And the northern minor clan is not strong at all, they just can beat the 60 samurai retainers that the Oda leave defending Inazawa (Owari's castle town)

    Even with Darthmod they die within the first 10 turns. I've never seen them survive.

    I think it's CA's sick way of making fun of the person from the clan who started the process of the unification of Japan.
