Default Does setting DX11 to "true" in preferences do anything?

Because someone posted in a thread about setting DX11 to true and seeing a significant performance increase.

I for one noticed that zooming in to a big melee doesn't kill my FPS anymore...it actually goes down maybe 10 fps (coming from 50 fps not zoomed)

Now I don't want this thread to grow into an AA/DX11 argument, but if any of you wanna see for yourselves and post your findings, that would be appreciated.

This could maybe help people who would like higher FPS if doing this method does indeed make the game run faster.

    Thoughts?

It would be very strange if it did do anything, as the DX11 files are not even in the DX folder and the .exe isn't capable of reading it yet.

Perhaps uses optimised DX11 methods on the DX9, and simply skips the additional DX11 effects?

That's what I was telling myself the entire time (it's just a placebo etc...)

    However Fraps said otherwise.

No files, no DX11, simple as that, that DX11 true is just meant to automatically activate DX11 when the patch comes out.
