Default New at SS and need some help....

Ok, so after a good few years I've come back to M2TW and installed this mod because it looks promising. I'm playing ScotlandVHVH with BygIV enabled and I'm running into money problems: how do I get more money into my treasury and less into my nobles? I know my nobles need money for recruitment but I'm in the red and my nobles are all rich (my king has over 6000....)

    Thanks for your help!

If you are beyond universal right to knight your faction leader can order scutage basically telling the nobles that he wants a cut from the tax profits."Use the "request recruitment advice button" on your recruitment panel when a general is in a settlement to implement this" as it is said in the byg's manual

Thanks! Also, what are the big differences between castles and towns in this mod? I know castles cant increase their tax rate but thats about it...

Thanks for the links. Two further questions which I couldnt find an answer to in the guide:

    1) What is the use for the stonemason/logging camp buildings? They only reduce building cost by 5% and don't seem to lead to anything else?

    2) 1 of my best generals now has 0 Command stars because apparently he is overconfident due to winning battles with overwhelming force: whats the reason for this restriction and is the only way to fix this to reduce my army's numbers so that the blue/red bar says 1:1 ?

Stonemason and logging camps are simply not worth the cost + time. Even if you build them early on while your settlements are still small, you won't end up saving much in the long run. And by the time it will actually start saving you money, you should by that time be already in control of a relatively vast/wealthy nation.

And yes. Try to fight battles where the odds are even or against you. Only that way will your general start earning command stars.

Cities make more money, castles allow the recruitment of better units (usually).

And it depends on the faction, The Italians don't really need castles much at all.
