    Default Changing your general's bodyguard

I want to change the general's bodyguard for the Takeda to reflect that they are better horsemen. There are three entries under the unit_stats_land_tables (using the new, working PFM!) that describe different takeda bodyguard units. At least two reflect named generals that are created in the game-start. I've edited their stats, and tested that editing was working by editing a different horse unit (in this case the takeda light horse, also present at the beginning of the game). The edits to the bodyguard unit did not work. The game loaded fine, plays fine, but the units are the same. Does anyone have a way to either a) make a new bodyguard unit for a faction replace the existing one or b) make an existing unit into the regular bodyguard troop?
