Well, I'm going to put this out there in the hope that it sparks interest in those who are talented enough to pull off these incredible mods. Anyone who still owns an original xbox I would strongly recommend digging out KUF: Crusaders and KUF: Heroes as its the first strategic game that worked incredibly effectively on a console level.
Just a couple of youtube vids to get acquainted :

Since KUF has been moved to 360 and awaiting release but heres trailer anyhoo :

Right, getting back to it. Why I think this would be a good mod:
-Units are already thought out in terms of aesthetics
-Gun Powder is present and fits perfectly well into the Medieval 'look'. Designers wanted it that way.
-Bersia, the wold where the games take place, is already mapped out : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RX_NW...eature=related (sorry for the annoying guy who talks in these vids)
-There is a 'Pope' figure in the game known as the Patriarch. Pretty much a perfect replica of real life who in the game orders a crusade to take 'Sacred Ground' conveniently set in the desert again like real life.
-Scope to build on the games storyline with original content.
-All events that take place in the games are well thought out and documented.
Why it wouldn't:
-Aeriel units are present in the game so thats a no no.
-Some Army tech trees are replicated, especially with humans but as I said, there's scope to put user content in.
-Not particularly known franchise so interest is determined on people exploring the KUF universe a bit.
-Main capital cities in the game are not fought. What I mean by this is that in the game there are sieges that take place but due to it running on xbox its limited to outer walls. Having said that you do get a feel for what the capitals look like in the game map like in the vid up there ^
-You dont see any of the Dark Elf settlements at all in the game minus a place called Arien that was taken over.
-Some of the creatures in the game will be hard if not impossible to create
Right - here's a map of the whole continent and where the main factions come from:
Faction Over View + Prologue as stated in Game guide:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom..._The_Crusaders
The history part before the events in the games is shrouded in myth. And even I have questions about it but I guess thats part of the reason why I like the storyline as it gives the creators scope to work with.
Ok, so we have factions, map, characters and gameplay all in the wiki article.
Heres some unit images just to give a feel:

These are just a taster. I can type out th whole tech trees of the two factions but for now I'm just showing how easy it would be to rework the game engine around this as you have all the units skinned, a map, factions, and a good scope to develop with.
Finish off with a bit of gameplay from Kendals Campaign :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yt2VP-EH2Z8
Anyhoo, thanks for reading.
