I am running Rome total war gold on steam and threw all the problems this is as far as I have gotten.
I am sure that this is the best mod ever for rome and I would love to play it, I have reinstalled numerous times so I thought that this was my last chance for me to get it working. Thanks for your time and possible assistance.

why not buy the damn game as a physical copy from e-bay or a second hand gold edition...it cost just little powder nowadays and the steam crap just brings problems ...just a suggestion though but Iam pretty serious about the issue itself...

I think I recall your error in previous topics..related to STEAM users but not 100% sure...did you read the stickys about known issues ?

Nope all the ways to install it, that have been suggested do not work for me, they all give me the same error message. Thanks for your help any way.

Any other links, it says in the installation threads that the beta testers got the steam game to work ok.

I don't run the game through Steam so I can't help with this.

I presume you did find this thread (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=386559) where there is a section on running the game with Steam?

    Redownload & reinstall.
    Might be corrupted file.

I have done Hell hound multiple times using the different download links and the torrents linked in the main thread. I am sure it is not a corrupted save. Also I have found the section for running the game on steam. I will probably admit defeat and buy the copy from Amazon for £3 the annoying thing is I had the original game at some point and over the years since my youth I have misplaced the disk 1 in the case, that is why I decided to download the game from steam, even with all the horrors I have heard with mod compatibility.

Its could be permission issues then, when overwriting files or reading etc.
In which case it's very hard to get the mod working with steam.

I feel your pain OP. I run it on steam as well and had endless problems with install. It all boiled down to not taking 30 more seconds to fully read the installation instructions. Follow Liljazzer's instructions and you shouldn't have any problems.
